Ideas for Ecosystem Services
- What infectious disease is being studied where? -- a map-based overview of field-based studies of one or more infectious diseases
- With a timeline (date of publication)
- Combined with other parameters, e.g. ...
- median age of acute infection (do people get infected at different ages in different places?)
- urban vs. rural (do urban or rural communities show increased incidence? compare in different localities?)
- seasonality (how does time of outbreak compare across different places?)
- distribution (prevalence) of various Leptospira species?
- For a journal like plosntd, a simple find or browse by disease might be a valuable service.
N.B. a map-based mashup of studies of various bacterial species has already been done by http://maps.mlst.net/view_maps.php -- the maps show, by country, data on different strains of a particular species; or, for a given strain, where it has been isolated.
