VRA Core Categories, Version 3.0

VRA core is a metadata element set in the style of Dublin Core, intended for use with visual objects. There is a high degree of overlap with basic Dublin Core elements, which is unfortunate (why not just use DC and add extensions where needed?). There is also a distinction between Work and Image, which comes over as being a dumbed down version of FRBR's Work, Expression, Manifestation, Item classification.
The element definitions include mappings to Categories for Description of Works of Art (CDWA, http://www.getty.edu/gri/standard/cdwa/) and Dublin Core.
