Observation

Del.icio.us was used to tag the project wiki. It helped us to link our project with other projects that share the same tags. However, for the purpose of supporting scientific experimental data management, del.icio.us shows the following shortcomings:

• cannot provide authorised access to the tagged data
• cannot build a link between experimental data and their related publications, as what can be achieved using ConnoteaDefiningImageAccess/Tool/Connotea
• have a risk of connecting experimental data resources with resources tagged with low quality, due to the fact that delicous is adopted by users on the Web in general rather than scientific community.
