CLIC project reports

  • The final report deals with recommendations and practices for community-led image collections, highlighting social as well as technical issues. The various recommendations provide a useful external framework for us to assess how our own approach might fit with a wider landscape of image-related collection and sharing activities. I think it's interesting to note that the research community we've talked to so far are far more enthusiastic about sharing, and working to enable sharing, than some of the users reported in this study.
  • The project also produced an online directory of image collections: http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ltg/projects/clic/matrix.html. This list is indexed by subject area, and for each collection in the list gives its URI and a brief summary of the nature of its content. For some of the collections, there are also a list of subject areas covered included in the description.

There is also a list of Museum and Art Gallery Websites: http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ltg/projects/clic/muslist.html. (Strangely, I don't see our Oxford-based Beazly archive mentioned there: https://www.beazley.ox.ac.uk/)
