Intute

Brings togther a number of subject-specific portals:

"Intute is a free online service providing access to the very best web resources for education and research. All material is evaluated and selected by a network of subject specialists to create the Intute database."

Four main subject areas:

  1. Intute: Arts and Humanities, led by the University of Oxford in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University
  2. Intute: Health and Life Sciences, led by the University of Nottingham
  3. Intute: Science Engineering and Technology, led by the University of Manchester in partnership with Heriot Watt University
  4. Intute: Social Sciences, led by the University of Bristol in partnership with the University of Birmingham

Some of the previous portals were: Biome, Sosig, Humbul, ...

Intute Repository Search

Note that the Intute Repository Search is a technically distinct service under the Intute brand. (I find this a confusing use of branding, which cost me some time in understanding the Intute Repository Search offering.) It is somewhat like OAIster applied to UK institutional repositories.
