Goals
- brief update and introduction to ADMIRAL system - what it does, access modes, access control model, link to departmental storage - setting up individual user accounts
David Introduction
Discussion of storage capacity: - since the early days of ADMIRAL, the group are now looking for Terabyte orders of capacity for video data. 200-300Gb isn't going so far as it once did.
Introduction to ADMIRAL
What it does: - file share; uses existing software - automatic daily backup to HFS - web access overlay with supporting services - dataset submission to Bodleian Databank for preservation/publication - access modes - access control model: private, shared, collab; members, leaders - links to departmental IT storage
User set up
Create accounts and set up client PC access.

Databank deposit demo. Worked OK with MV, problems when tried later with JA/TM
