Goals

• Reconfigure development group user passwords - check system is working
• Set up RG leader with admin access via sudoers
• Introduce dataset submission interface, get some initial feedback

Details

We talked SS through changing a password using admin access. This went smoothly enough, but we were unable to use smbldap-passwd from a non-privileged account.

We than ran a demo of the dataset submission interface. It didn't work in IE on SS' Windows laptop, so we used Firefox on GK's laptop which worked OK (apart from one appearance of the known submission display timing problem). SS expressed interest in the notion of dataset submission to the Library Service for preservation and publication, as this matched requirements he was increasingly seeing from research funders.

Problems noted:

• smbldap-passwd not working for non-admin user (cant-fix-yet)
• Front page - user add/remove link: mention password setting (fixed).
• RGLeader to have su access: change /etc/sudoers
• Missing logo on front page (fixed)
• Select Dataset - dataset listing display not working (proxy connection problem?)
• IP address in databank link in dataset display (problem from Databank manifest - emailed AR)
• Not displaying Databank dataset submission/listing with Internet explorer - needs testing.
