ADMIRAL deployment
The main purpose of this meeting was to configure a deployed ADMIRAL system for use by the Evolutionary Development group. The system was successfully set up for SS and one researcher. More researchers are expected to join the group in the new year. While there was some discussion of required features
SS was able to add a new researcher mostly by following instructions on the ADMIRAL web site.
- Create user accounts
- Show how to map file CIFS (Windows) file shares - confirm it works as expected.
- Brief demo dataset submission?
Collaborators
Require per-account collaboration
Would like discriminated access for different collaborators, hidden from other collaborators (future requirement, maybe, not immediate concern)
Further requirements arising
Configure databank access - in configuration?
Change RG leader private area
DNS access from outside UNI network
Add capability for RG leader to be able to use sudo.
Follow-up
I had a brief conversation with SS on 2011-01-20 about the working of ADMIRAL. He had made some use immediately after we set it up, then had
SS did mention that HT had some significant data management concerns, and thart we might usefully get her connected to the development ADMIRAL system.
